Why is Facebook’s metaverse a bad omen for a diverse society?

Facebook’s metaverse is one of the current buzzwords. Facebook even considers rebranding in the wake of it. The idea of being able to live and interact digitally is not something new. In fact, we already do it today mostly via texts, sound recordings, or videos. What metaverse would change is how we do it.
